This year the Appledore Visual Arts Festival (May 31st –June 3rd ) will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary . Our 2007 Festival is returning to its roots and will focus on artists who live and work in Devon including Marcus Vergette and Susan Derges. The Festival was the first annual visual arts festival of its kind and today stands as the broadest ranging event of its type in the UK, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to both view exhibitions and to interact with the artists themselves in a range of workshops, talks and art-creation events. |

Themed around ‘Wide River’, the Festival will offer a varied programme of events to celebrate the confluence of the Torridge and Taw rivers which have shaped Appledore’s unique natural and historical environment for centuries. Workshops, talks and demonstrations will cater for all ages and interests. Adults can join drawing classes, children can sign-up for or drop-in to a variety of workshops ranging from film animation to carnival art, while whole families can help create a giant clay fantastical fish on Appledore Quay ! |
