Appledore Arts Fellowship

The Fellowship is an exciting new initiative to support and encourage emerging artists who are either undertaking or have recently completed a Degree in any area of Visual Arts. Appledore Arts will provide each selected artist with professional support and the opportunity to showcase their work within the Appledore Arts Festival.

Students from Somerset College of Arts and Technology and North Devon College submitted proposals, shortlisted students were then invited to present their ideas to the Fellowship Selection Panel. During our selection and interview process, we were looking for high quality work in any media / process which was considered challenging, innovative and risk taking. The work presented also had to demonstrate the potential to explore the 2009 Festival theme of 'Fire and Fury ' and to also contain suggestions for involvement in the community.
